Haunted Invitations

My friend and co-worker requested a set of custom invitations for her son’s upcoming birthday. They are going to celebrate at an indoor trampoline park. (I’ve never been to one but, they look like a lot of fun!)

I copied the logo for Reboounderz off of the company’s website. And then in a Word document I changed it over to a black and white version so that I could color it how I liked.  And I downloaded a spooky looking free font from dafont.com. In order to have the company logo and the sentiment match in color, I chose a bubble style font so that I could color the letters by hand.

Zombie card, Halloween birthday invitation, rebounderz invitation,

The zombies and tombstones are two separate dollar bin stamps from Michaels, that I bought a few years back. (Always check out the dollar bins in Michaels and JoAnns because, sometimes they have great buys.) The sky and laser lights are colored with Copic Markers and then dabbed with a rag that has Copic blending solution on it. The ink will move away from any area where the solution is placed and by using a terry cloth rag it gives the ink a stippled look.

And because the invitations were for a trampoline party I mounted the Rebounderz logo on a Action Wobble spring to make it interactive. My friend’s son really loved the design and he was happy that I had made an extra one just for him. Hopefully his friends liked the design too!

Stay tuned for my Thanksgiving cards in a just a few days.

Halloween Cards Galore

It has been quite a long time since my last post. But it is not because I haven’t been creating cards. I have just been a bit busy with life lately. So today I thought I would jump back in with an quick and easy post featuring some Halloween cards that I created for my nieces and nephews.

Halloween Ride

I used several different stamps set together to create this Halloween scene. After it was stamped, colored and die cut I cut it into strips and placed it on black paper. Then I die cut the shape again. I don’t know if this is an actual technique or not but, I think it’s cool looking.

poison apple card

The poison apple die cut is available as a SVG file from Silhoutte and the Beware Sign is a die cut sticker from K & Company.

Witch Card

The witch with the pumpkins and the cat are both K&Company die cuts. I doodled the tree and then stamped and colored the leaves. The fence is a Martha Stewart Halloween punch.

Zombie card

This card feature 4 different stamp sets. And the focal image  features stamps from the $1 bin at Joann Fabrics.

Thanks for looking. I promise that my next post will include more information about the stamp sets and techniques I used. For this post I just wanted to get back into the habit of blogging my cards.

Happy Stamping,

Haunted Mansion

Last year I bought  two Martha Stewart  Halloween paper punches for 50% off in November. And this year I finally got around to using them.

This card features the Martha Stewart Iron Edge punch. I love the little bats on the posts of the fence. I also used some of my new distress inks to create  a spooky hill and twilight sky for my haunted mansion.

Rather than have the house seem abandoned I opted to color some lights in the windows.  When I was through it kind of reminded me of the Bates Motel. The sentiment is a rub on transfer that I have had for ages and ages.

I am entering this card into the Simon Says Stamp Challenge Dies and/or Punches. Someday maybe I’ll get lucky and win the $50 gift card that is always the prize for their challenges. I could spend that real quick at Simon Say Stamp.

Happy Stamping,
