My daughter’s good friend was hosting a Harry Potter themed birthday party a few weeks ago. So I set out to make a unique card featuring the adorable stamps from the Bugaboo Stamp series Har Repotter. These are digital stamps so you can make them as large or small as you want and you can arrange them as closely or far apart as you want. Digital stamps are so versatile because, of that.
For the front of this oversized card I decided to feature Professor Snape monitoring the hallways of Hogwarts Castle. The floor, walls and torch are all hand doodled. The stones are colored using colored pencils and Baby Oil for blending. I didn’t want to waste too much of my Copic ink on the inexpensive paper.
Once I had completed the background for the corridor I glued on Snape, whom I had already colored and cut out. And I added the sentiment which I had simply printed out along with the digital stamps. (I use Word for all of my digital stamp projects. You don’t need any fancy imaging programs)
For the inside of the card I created a Surprise Party scene on a simple Pop Up card base. Each character is an individual stamp but, I grouped them together in my Word Doc before printing them out. This saved me lots of time and fussy cutting! The dragon and unicorn are part of the Critters Ever After stamp set from Lawn Fawn. The wall and clouds are hand doodled and the presents and cupcake are some stickers that I have had for eons. And lastly the sentiments on the top are ink stamped.
I hope you are inspired by this card to try your hand at adding some doodles to your own work. It is a great way to stretch your artistic muscles without having to be all that talented. 🙂
Happy Stamping,
Mo
