Chicks Know How to Party!

Denami Designs Large chick

Last night I was playing around with my Large Chickie stamp from Denami Designs. I had purchased a birthday stamp that included a party hat from Michael’s for $1 on Saturday night.Unfortunately, it turned out that the hat was too big for the chick’s head. ūüė¶ ¬†But then I remembered that I had some tiny Christmas tree stamps that might work and they fit perfectly! (I did alter the clear Christmas tree stamp by cutting off the trunk of the tree)

After I finished the card I realized that I should have taken some photos of the step by step process to show any newbies the stamp masking process. If I have time tonight I will recreate this card and take photos along the way and then blog about it tomorrow.

The confetti is covered with Glossy Accents and then sprinkled with Fairy Dust glitter for a little sparkle. And I used Glossy Accents for their beaks as well.

I will be entering this card into the Simon Says Stamp: Anything Goes, challenge for a chance to win a $50 gift card to  their online store. Woo hoo!

Happy Stamping,

One Smart Chick!

I made a graduation card for our son James’ girlfriend, Maya. The card features a really cute stamp from Denami Design called Large Chickie. Lisa P. from the Denami Design team has featured several cards using this chick dressed up in different clothing and accessories. That inspired me to make him/her into a Graduate.

graduation card idea

First I stamped the mortarboard hat and the covered it with a stamping mask and then I stamped the chickie and colored it in. Easy peasy but, totally cute! (check out this post to see how a stamping mask  works)

Our local High School colors are Green and Gold  so I featured those colors in the background and on the tassel. I nipped the edge of the mounting papers and the image with a 1/2 circle punch to create a ticket punch look.

Now that I have  seen how easy it was to dress my Large Chickie up I am eager to try it again. Check out Lisa blog to see some really creative ways to dress up this stamp.  bellalistona.blogspot.com
