Thanksgiving Clean and Simple Card

I desperately need to get a real camera so that I can stop taking such lousy pictures with my camera phone. (No offense IPhone 4 but you are no Nikon!)

I created this card for Thanksgiving for one of my older nephews. The stamp sets I used are Inkadinkado Autumn leaves and Inkadinkado Expression. And thanks to an inspiration post from A Blog Named Hero I decided to use some simple scoring and keep my card Clean and Simple.

My sentiment is mounted with dimensional stickers but, I added the brads for some visual interest. I love the shiny copper color of these brads and I think they give my card a little touch of class.

This card will be entered into the DYSU #96- Brads challenge. I think I may try to create a Christmas that features brads more prominently and enter that card in as well.

Fast Fall Cards

I created a quick set of Fall cards this morning. The longest part of the whole process was when I rewrote one of the tags 3 times because, I hate the way my handwriting looks. In the end I just had to accept the fact that I never got an A in penmanship for a reason.

I used my Inkadinkado Autumn Leaves clear stamp to create this fall card. First I inked the stamps with my Stampin Up Stamping Spots and then I misted them with water before stamping onto the cardstock. I inked the outlines of the stamps with stamp markers and stamped over the images a second time. I cut out the tag on my Big Shot and then I hand wrote my Haiku. (Well really I’m one syllable short of a Haiku. You just have to pronounce Dazzling as Dazz-a-ling and then I’m golden)

I used the Stampin’ Up Pursuit of Happiness stamp set for the sentiment on this card because, I just couldn’t stand to see my ugly handwriting on another card. LOL     I cut out the Nestabilities tag from a paint swatch and then I stamped onto it with StazOn ink. I love the the sheen of the paper as well as the color.

Here is another card I made using the Inkadinkado Autumn Leaves stamp the I bought at TJ Maxx. I am not normally a TJ Maxx shopper but another blogger alerted me to the fact that they have stamps and punches there for very little cost.  This chartreuse tag is a paint swatch sample too. I like the way it contrasts the soft reds, yellows and oranges on the rest of the card.

I made one final card with a kraft paper sentiment. Although I think it looks nice, I think I would use raffia or twine next time instead of the ribbon. I think an orange colored Baker’s Twine would work well too.

Happy Stamping,
