Dude, That Card is Like, Totally Awesome! :)

Posted on

My comment was chosen as one of the winners for the CAS-ual Fridays new stamp set, release/Blog Hop two weeks ago. I was so excited to get my hands on another one of their awesome stamp sets. (I already own 8 Happy Nights) For my prize I chose the stamp set Rad.

Rad Stamp Set When I was a kid my friends and I used to crack each other up by talking like Valley Girls. So, I think that I will have a fun time mixing and matching the totally, awesome words from this set, dude!

I made this card for my nephew Sam, who is turning 11 in June. Sam doesn’t talk like a surfer or a Valley Girl but, hopefully he will get a kick out of this epic card.

In order to create the neon paint splatter (very 1980 something) I used my Hero Arts neon inks and some Copic Clear Blender. First I pressed some ink onto my plastic table mat and then I added just one drop of the blender. Next I dabbed my paint brush in and then I just flicked it at the card.  The end result reminds my of the J. Geils Band video for Freeze Frame. YouTube it. If you were a kid in the 80’s you will remember how awesome it was to have your MTV.

Next up is a more polished card using the same set and neon inks.

I only had a chance to make two cards with this set before I had to leave for work this morning but, I plan to play around with it more tonight or tomorrow.

I will be entering this card into the Simon Says Stamp Challenge: Anything Goes.

A big thank you to Michele at CAS-ual Fridays for her generosity, inspiration and totally awesome stamps!

Happy Stamping,

Mo

Cool Background Colors

I was inspired by a card at CAS-ual Fridays created by Girl Friday Kelly. Her card  included a  really cool rainbow bar code. It was so colorful and  fun that I knew I wanted to try to create something similar. To create my card I masked off the area were my sentiment would go and then I just kept inking and stamping with my linear clear stamp. The end resulted looked so cool! 🙂

Hero Arts Neon Ink

For the lines, I used the Hero Arts Neon Ink that I purchased on sale at JoAnn’s a week or so ago. The ink pads were on sale for $3.89 and they are regularly  $6.49 each. After weeks of debating whether or not I really needed these inks the sale pushed me into action. This inks are awesome and the colors are so fun and bright!

I am going to share this card on a just for fun challenge at Operation Write Home for their Midweek Throwdown; Tic Tac Toe.  My entry is for the diagonal set of  Brads, Tags and Embossing. Why not choose a row and play along?

Happy Stamping,

Mo
