One Stamp for Three Lovely Nieces

Every holiday I send out cards to my many nieces and nephews. Sometimes the cards have money in them and sometimes only stickers. But the kids enjoy getting them either way. And I enjoy making them too.

Sometimes each card is very different from the one that a sibling or cousin might receive. And sometimes I just make them different enough so that there won’t be any arguments over who’s card it may be.

That was the case this year for 3 of my nieces.

Christmas Stage by Penny BlackThis card features a glitter mixture of red and green. It wasn’t hard to mix the colors because, they had been premixed by a curious niece who got into my craft stash a few years ago. (Ah the temptation of all things sparkly).

In order to make the glitter line look so crisp I used double stick tape and simply poured the glitter over the card and poured the excess back into the jar.

Penny Black Christmas StageI used double stick tape for this card too. However, I changed the look of the card by stamping various Christmas sentiments in Versamark embossing ink for a background.

Penny Black GlobeThis card features  a graphic background created with embossing ink and different Christmas sentiments too. I decided to change the orientation of the card and to use chunky glitter to make this one a bit different from the first two. I love the way the glitter looks like fur on her jacket and hat.

I will be sharing one of these cards over at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Stamp It Out 2013. You can play along too. All you have to do is create a project with a stamp. And you could win a $50 gift card to SSS!

I will also be playing along at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Bling It On. You have 13 days left to create a card featuring something sparkly to try to win a SSS gift card.

Inlaid Diecut Card for Christmas

Nichole Heady of Papertrey Ink shared a great tutorial by Betsy on her blog.  Just click the word tutorial to go to the post.

I had seen cards using the method before but, this is the first one that I have created myself.

The Together die cut and the sentiment on the bottom of the card are both from Papertrey Ink. The set is called Wonderful Words and it retails for $5! There are so many great sets at Papertrey Ink. If you are a fellow stamper I highly recommend that you check their store out.

For the word Christmas I used a Mama Elephant set called Flashy Letters ($15) First I stamped it with Versamark Ink and then I used a shiny green embossing powder to create more dimension to the word.

I will be entering this card into the Make it Monday #138 challenge at Capture the Moment.  I will also be entering this card into the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Anything Goes Challenge and the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes. Two anything goes for one. Woo hoo!

Happy Stamping,

Owl Occasions Christmas

Owl for Christmas

My good friend Penny came to my house so that we could create some cards together. She brought along her new Stampin Up stamp set, called Owl Occasions. (The snowflakes are from a Fiskars stamp set and the pine bough is from Waltzing Mouse Stamps.) We played around with her new stamps, laughed a lot and got a couple of cards done too. I hope we can do another collaborative session together again soon.

I am going to mass produce this card so that I can use it for my Christmas mailing list this year. I am also entering it into the Simon Says Stamp: Snowflakes challenge so that I have a chance to win a gift card for my own wish list!

Happy Stamping,

Mo
