One Stamp for Three Lovely Nieces

Every holiday I send out cards to my many nieces and nephews. Sometimes the cards have money in them and sometimes only stickers. But the kids enjoy getting them either way. And I enjoy making them too.

Sometimes each card is very different from the one that a sibling or cousin might receive. And sometimes I just make them different enough so that there won’t be any arguments over who’s card it may be.

That was the case this year for 3 of my nieces.

Christmas Stage by Penny BlackThis card features a glitter mixture of red and green. It wasn’t hard to mix the colors because, they had been premixed by a curious niece who got into my craft stash a few years ago. (Ah the temptation of all things sparkly).

In order to make the glitter line look so crisp I used double stick tape and simply poured the glitter over the card and poured the excess back into the jar.

Penny Black Christmas StageI used double stick tape for this card too. However, I changed the look of the card by stamping various Christmas sentiments in Versamark embossing ink for a background.

Penny Black GlobeThis card features  a graphic background created with embossing ink and different Christmas sentiments too. I decided to change the orientation of the card and to use chunky glitter to make this one a bit different from the first two. I love the way the glitter looks like fur on her jacket and hat.

I will be sharing one of these cards over at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Stamp It Out 2013. You can play along too. All you have to do is create a project with a stamp. And you could win a $50 gift card to SSS!

I will also be playing along at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Bling It On. You have 13 days left to create a card featuring something sparkly to try to win a SSS gift card.

Happy Stamping,

Santa and the Christmas Star

We have packed up most of our house in preparation to move to our new home at the end of this month. But I am holding out on packing my craft room until the very end. And I have been busy at work creating cards for the Yulee Holiday Festival this Saturday.

Santa and SnowmanI created this card for sale using an adorable digital stamp from Birdie Brown. Unfortunately, her Etsy shop has since closed. And the sentiment stamp is from a Fiskars stamp set that I bought at Tuesday Morning last month. I think the set cost $2.19!

I colored the image with Copic Markers. For the colored lights in the tree I colored them first and them coated them with clear glaze. Once that dried I colored in the green for the trees. I added clear glaze to Santa’s coat and hat and then sprinkled them with Fairy Dust glitter.

Hopefully I will see some of you at my craft booth on Saturday.

Happy Stamping,

Action Wobble Penguin

Posted on

It was so nice to have the day off yesterday. And for once in about 2 weeks it didn’t rain at all during the day. We lazed around the house yesterday and took a dip in the pool and it was blissful! Hopefully you enjoyed your Independence Day as well.

I got a chance to play around in my craft room this morning and I put together a card for the CAS-ual Fridays Material Girl Challenge and the same card is perfect for the Action Wobble Christmas in July, Challenge.

Penguin Christmas Card

My daughter Sam and I had purchased some fabric at Christmas time last year to make pajama pants. We partially made one pair of  pants, one size too small and then gave up. LOL I am not much of a sewer. So needless to say I have a bunch of flannel penguin material left over.

I carefully cut out one of the adorable penguins and mounted her to some cardboard with Elmer’s Glue. Then I added an Action Wobble spring to the back of  cardboard so that she can jiggle her little penguin booty on the card. The sentiment is a mash up from CASual Fridays: Rad, Mama Elephants: Flashy Letters and Hero Arts: Christmas Sentiments.

Owl Occasions Christmas

Owl for Christmas

My good friend Penny came to my house so that we could create some cards together. She brought along her new Stampin Up stamp set, called Owl Occasions. (The snowflakes are from a Fiskars stamp set and the pine bough is from Waltzing Mouse Stamps.) We played around with her new stamps, laughed a lot and got a couple of cards done too. I hope we can do another collaborative session together again soon.

I am going to mass produce this card so that I can use it for my Christmas mailing list this year. I am also entering it into the Simon Says Stamp: Snowflakes challenge so that I have a chance to win a gift card for my own wish list!

Happy Stamping,

Cup Of Joy

I used a free image from The Alley Way Stamps. It is digital image called Steamin’ Hot.

It has been a long time since my last post. Right after Thanksgiving weekend my husband Jeff and I had to prepare to go the Mohawk Flooring Convention in Orlando, FL. We spent 4 fun filled days seeing the latest introductions, attending sales workshops and of course eating all of the delicious goodies that the Gaylord Hotel provided for the convention.

Now that things have settled back into a routine for me I have been in my craft room again making cards. I am used this great free image from the Alley Way Stamps called Steamin Hot and my own typed sentiment to make this Christmas card. In order to play along with a Lawnscaping Challenge: Color Inspiration, I used turquoise and red for my card.

I am also going to enter this card into Aud Sentiments Challenge: Anything Goes and a DT Call.  Play along for a chance to win 3 of Birdie Brown’s digital images!
