Flipping Over Spinner Cards

In an effort to add some more cute and fun cards to my selection for a craft show I will be vending in in April I made some spinner cards. These cards are fun for kids or adults (I know because I am one. An adult that is.) and although they are simple to make, they never fail to impress.

I am going to share the photos of the cards as well as the link to see them in action on youtube. (My daughter Sam was my graceful hand model for the videos.)

Blow Out Your Candles and Make a Wish.

When I see a card or craft idea in a magazine I really like, I tear out the page and put it in my Idea Book. The book is nothing special to look at. Just an old 3 ring binder our daughter used for school in the 5th grade. The outside is plain green with her name scrawled in big silver letters. There is a big strip of paper stuck on the back from some old sticker she tore off of it. But on the inside it is a thing of beauty for the novice crafter. It is full of ideas from crafting magazines, Martha Stewart and images from the internet.

I pulled out a page from it this weekend that had been calling my name since March of 2011. The idea was featured in Card Maker Magazinewhich is a bimonthly publication and an awesome wealth of ideas.

The card features the Candles on Your Cake set by Gina K. Designs and a clever idea for a slide surprise.  You could probably play around with the sizes for the card base and the stamps for the featured layer. However, you will definitely want a eyelet for the slide tag, dimensional stickers to keep the slide from flopping around inside the card and a Word Window punch from Stampin’ Up if you have one. Enjoy!

B is for birthday.

My mother-inlaw is named Bonnie so I thought it would be cute to make a card with a big B on the front. The B would represent her initial but would also tie to into my sentiment inside which says “is for birthday!”.  I cut a capital b out with my cricut and used it for the base on which I would place my quilled paper. I also used my cuttlebug to emboss a border on the top and the bottom of the card. The quilled portion took about an hour to complete.

First Birthday

I made this card for my grand-nephew Craig’s first birthday. My nephew Chris told me that Craig clapped when they showed him the card. Wouldn’t it be nice to get that reaction every time you made a card?

The rabbit, chick and lamb stamps are from the Michael’s dollar bin. I stamped them one on top of the other and put some dimensionals underneath them to make them stand out.

One Cool Cat

This cool cat digital stamp is from Hambo stamps and yes it is another free stamp. You have got to love the F-word!

I made this for my nieces birthday so I made the card very girly and youthful. About a year ago I had purchased a crimper on sale at Michael’s and I just now got around to using it. I definitely will be using it again because I think it came out really cute. The paper flower was another clearance item that I snagged at Michael’s awhile back. All I did was finish it off with a self-adhesive gem.
