You Turn Me On (Retro TV image)

Posted on

This adorable image is July’s freebie from Torico on her Birdie Brown Blog. Torico is offering a free sentiment too but, I made one of my own to use.  As soon as I saw this image I knew that I wanted to use a “punny saying” along with it.

I hopped around the internet and found a cool image to use for the background of the TV screen. Torico offers her images in a JPG or PNG format and I chose to download the PNG so that I could layer the image like I did here. The word bubble is just a clip art insert offered on Windows with a text box inside of it.

I am going to enter this card into the Birdie Brown July Challenge  You should grab the freebie and play along too!

Little Brains but Big Hearts

My little nieces and nephews all look forward to the cards I send them on holidays. (Hopefully it is the cards they love and not the crisp $1 bill inside!) And Valentine’s Day is no exception! This year I am making all of their cards with the digital images I bought from Pink Cat Studio a few months back.

Pink Cat has adorable images at a really great price. I got 4 dinos in a value pack for only $8.99. Digital stamping is an affordable way for beginning stampers to get crafting.

I used Pink Cat Studio’s, Cupid Rex stamp, for this card. I colored him with Copic Caio Markers and I used Spellbinders Nestabilities- Label Twelve die, to cut out the image and the pink background paper. I am entering this card at DYSU Challange Blog #58 Love  and also in the Simon Say Stamp Love is in the Air challenge.

Pink Cat Studios’, Rex Ate the Valentines is the digital stamp used for this card. I got the idea for the sentiment from a t-shirt I saw at Rue 21. The inside reads, “But me ate it!”. I used Glossy Accents on a few of the hearts and on his spikes. The bite mark is made with a scalloped circle punch. This card is going into the DYSU Challenge and also in the Simon Says Stamp Love is in the Air Challange!

I love the expression on this Pterodactyl face. (And yes I had to Google how to spell Pterodactyl) He looks like he is really enjoying his job as love delivery dinosaur.

This digital stamp is called Dacty Holding Heart. (Probably Melissa from PCS didn’t want to look up how to spell Pterodactyl!) I layered 5 different Valentine papers to border the bottom of this card and I used Glossy Accents on the heart. I will be entering this last card in the Simon Says Stamp

I Heart This Holiday!

What can you get for a dollar nowadays. Lots of love from the impulse buys isle at Target. That’s what. I got these really cute papers for only a buck the other day.

Value Valentines

I cut up the page that had the Valentine’s Day sentiments on it to create some individual cards. Simon Says Stamp had a similar look in one of the cards Kristina Werner made and that was all the inspiration I needed.

I love Valentine’s Day! The cutesy hearts, the flowers and the quest of romantic love.  In another week or so I will be hanging up my valentine window clings and putting my red, pink and white candy corn in my decorative vases. Maybe my husband and I will even go out on a date this year. The possibilities are wide open and I’m ready for them!
