Kraft Paper Creation

It is still as hot as blazes here in Florida but I like to sit inside my air conditioned house and pretend that it is Fall outside. Making Halloween cards just helps to strengthen my illusion 😉

I used Kraft colored paper for this card and a diecut from K & Co. (the diecut is from  a Halloween package I bought 2 years ago) The sentiment is a stamp from the $1 bin at Michael’s that I bought last year. And the background cobwebs are a $1 stamp as well. The black dots are just hand doodled.

I am entering this card at A Blog Named Hero for their #10 Krafty Crafter Challenge.

Halloween is Here Again…2011

Our daughter decided  one week before Halloween that she wanted to be Eyeore. She made her custom Eyeore hat on a knitting loom and I made her tail with just some gray felt, black yarn and a bow. Once we painted her face the costume really came together. She is so clever!

My mother and father came over for our annual Halloween party. My dad’s beard was made with the old school trick of burning the end of a wine cork and then rubbing it on your skin. I went on many Halloween nights as a kid dressed as an old hobo with the exact same beard!

My honey and I were Zombies! Jeff was a Charlie Sheen zombie with crazy Sheen Quotes all over his tee. I kept it traditional with torn clothes, greenish skin and painted on wounds.

This little cutie is another freebie from Torico.I tried to add a little more panache to my card this time by adding two different patterned papers and the scalloped edge. But it wasn’t until I added the tiny buttons that I felt the card looked finished.

Autumn is my favorite season of the year and this scene makes me wish summer was over already.  I am a typical Floridian…I can’t stand the heat in summer but the winters here in North Florida freeze me to the bone…I would be happy to  have just a spring and a fall each year.  Maybe I should move to Hawaii! If only!

There is something about this little girls expression that just grabs me. She reminds me of a vintage image from a 1940’s Halloween postcard.

The image is another freebie and it is from Torico’s Digital Gallery. Torico is a designer for There She Goes Clear Stamps and her images are so cute. I know that I have been featuring alot of digital stamps on my post and that is because I just started using them a few weeks ago. I tend to craft in spurts of one kind of craft for a while. I get all geeked up about something for a couple of weeks and then something else will set me off in a new direction.

Unlike with alot of my cards I am actually pleased with my coloring technique on this one. The detail on the boots came out just like I pictured it and the shading looks natural too. I am my own worse critic as are all crafters I’m sure.
