Every holiday I send out cards to my many nieces and nephews. Sometimes the cards have money in them and sometimes only stickers. But the kids enjoy getting them either way. And I enjoy making them too.
Sometimes each card is very different from the one that a sibling or cousin might receive. And sometimes I just make them different enough so that there won’t be any arguments over who’s card it may be.
That was the case this year for 3 of my nieces.
This card features a glitter mixture of red and green. It wasn’t hard to mix the colors because, they had been premixed by a curious niece who got into my craft stash a few years ago. (Ah the temptation of all things sparkly).
In order to make the glitter line look so crisp I used double stick tape and simply poured the glitter over the card and poured the excess back into the jar.
I used double stick tape for this card too. However, I changed the look of the card by stamping various Christmas sentiments in Versamark embossing ink for a background.
This card features a graphic background created with embossing ink and different Christmas sentiments too. I decided to change the orientation of the card and to use chunky glitter to make this one a bit different from the first two. I love the way the glitter looks like fur on her jacket and hat.
I will be sharing one of these cards over at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Stamp It Out 2013. You can play along too. All you have to do is create a project with a stamp. And you could win a $50 gift card to SSS!
I will also be playing along at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Bling It On. You have 13 days left to create a card featuring something sparkly to try to win a SSS gift card.
Happy Stamping,
Mo
