I played along with another sketch for Operation Write Home today. I don’t know that I nailed this one but, lots of layers are definitely outside of my comfort zone. And mixing patterns is way, way outside of my comfort zone. But for me the point of trying out a sketch is for me to learn and embrace new styles.
Anyone can play along on these sketches and there is no winners so there is no pressure to “be the best”. So if you have a blog or a Flickr Account why not play along. http://operationwritehome.org/sketch-challenge-179/
I am also entering this card on the Simon Says Stamp Challenge: Anything Goes
Happy Stamping,

Really nice job for being “out of your comfort zone”. Love that sweet image!
I think you did a great job of mixing patterns. Your coloring brings them all together! Thanks for playing along with the OWH sketch.
I love your card- your paper selection and that image- perfect!!!!
Adorable card, I love the birds and the layers.
Nice job.

What an awesome card. I love the black matting you did, really makes the colors pop! Thanks for sharing.
Yes…you nailed it! Beautiful colors, sweet image and sentiment and I love the XOXO on the side! Great job stepping outside of your comfort zone!!
U did a great job with different patterns. The rue in decorating mixing patterns is to pa attention to scale. Also colors are in nature. Just look outside, there is a plethora of colors and they all go together. Not a good idea to mix yellow and brown-excrement! Can’t wait to see u again in a few weeks. Did u have drop dead dates for arrival and departure? Dave is claiming the condo for himself. Just kidding. Expect a package for Sam in a couple days. Bonnie
