My card was inspired by a song by Jessica Jarrell called Key to My Heart. The song was featured in the Jennifer Lopez movie The Back Up Plan.
My son James asked me to make a card for him to give his girlfriend. He bought her chocolates, flowers and a Beta fish, so I guess he was trying to conserve funds by getting a card for free. His only stipulation is that it not be too mushy because, Maya is not a mushy card kind of girl.
The heart is colored with Tim Holtz distress inks, (Worn Lipstick and Wild Honey) and I ran it through my Big Shot in an embossing folder from The Paper Studio. I knew that I wanted to have a keyhole in the middle of my heart. Although I shopped around, I couldn’t find a keyhole punch anywhere, so created a keyhole using a small circle punch and my craft knife.
For the background paper I used the envelope from a Tiffany’s catalog that I got in the mail a few weeks ago. The catalog is filled with this gorgeous paper that has a celestial theme featuring soft blues, golden clouds, stars and zodiac symbols in gold. I am going to put that catalog to good use! I added a final touch to the Tiffany’s paper by spraying it with my blue spritz.
I will be entering this card into the Cas-ual Fridays: Love Song Challenge and I will be sharing it on the Operationwritehome.org blog too.
Happy Stamping,
Mo
