This Martha Stewart stamp was on sale last spring so I snapped it up. I made a few cards with it but, I wasn’t thrilled with them. So I shelved the stamp and I hadn’t played around with it for a long time. But I recently thought about trying the stamp out again with watercolor paints. The watercolor paints made all the difference for me. I think the second batch has better coloring and I like the way I mounted them better too.
Here are the cards from my first go around. These were colored with colored pencils and blended with Gamsol.
For the next set of cards I used Aquarelle hot pressed watercolor paper and an ancient watercolor paint set my dad gave to me. (I think it was the one he used in college) I also used the Spellbinders Nestabilities: Reverse Wonky Rectangle dies and Lifestyles Crafts: Nested Rounded Squares that I got for Christmas. The Lifestyles Crafts brand was way cheaper than the Spellbinders version and it included more die cuts too! Two thumbs up on these from me.
This is the stamp set I used. I’m not sure if it is still sold in stores. But that is what EBAY is for!
LOL Ancient watercolor!! You make it seems so old back in 2000 years ago.
Oh. I just meant the case Dad gave me was ancient. The paints had cat hair stuck on them that was probably from Paku in 1970 something!
